(Acts 12)An angel comes to set Peter free from prison. He slapped him on the side to wake him up and told him to put his shoes and his clothes on. As soon as Peter moved, the chains that held him fell off. The gate they came to as they were leaving opened by itself. A block later the angel leaves and Peter finds himself free. But none of that would have happened if Peter had not put on his shoes and clothes on. He had to dress for were he was going, not were he was at.

I had a project earlier this week were I needed help to accomplish it but none of the help panned out. I was on my way to the project site and I decided to “put on” the right mind set and attitude. No one could have done this for me. I determined that I was going to work hard and be a blessing instead of crying about having no help. I was the one that ended up being blessed. Big time! And I’m not just talking about good feelings inside.

What if Peter cried about being in jail and just went back to sleep instead of getting prepared to “go someplace”.

Lord, help me to remember not to get hung up on how things look, but to “put on my shoes” so that I am ready to go were You take me.
