An angle comes to free Peter from prison and Peter thinks he’s dreaming.

He’s locked up, asleep in cell held down with chains between two guards. This angel shows up, slaps him on the side and says “get up and get dressed. Your getting out of here.” Peter does it. He gets up and the chains fall off. He gets dressed and they head out. As they come to a large gate it opens for them and they leave. Through all of this Peter thinks he’s seeing a vision and doesn’t know it’s actually happening. They get about a block away from the prison and the angels leaves him. Then Peter comes to himself and realizes that he wasn’t dreaming. It was all real.

It hits me hard that Peter thought he was just seeing a vision, and still did what the angel told him to do. Got up, put his shoes and clothes on, and headed out. Then a block later found himself set free from prison because he did what God was telling him to do, even though he had trouble believing it was real.

That’s faith! To believe and obey God, especially when it all feels like only a vision or a dream. It’s an awesome moment in life to come to your senses a “block down the road” and realize that what God was showing you was absolutely real.
